Leave your name, contact numbers, photos, resume at:

NB Seeking Don Johnson Stand-ins (April 25, 1996)

If Don Johnson appears to be in several places at the same time throughout San Francisco, now you know why. Fortier-Bonneau Casting is looking for several doubles for Don Johnson throughout this current season. To stand in for Don you should appear to be between 30 and 40 years old, 5'9" to 5'11", 170-175 pounds, sandy blond hair and of a good build. Drop by a recent headshot or use a Polaroid at 84 - 1st Street, between Market and Mission Streets in San Francisco.

Los Gatos Girl Gets a Part in NB (April 25, 1996)

Lucky 13 year old Elena Praskin got a part on NASH BRIDGES as a friend of Cassidy (Nash's daughter). Elena's from Los Gatos and her scenes were shot in SF.

NB On Location in North Beach (April 25, 1996)

In North Beath, a porno bookstore section of SF was used by the NB production during the last week in March. The people at offices of the Electric Café, a software company at 250 Columbus Avenue, reports that the NB production shot a sequence where a woman with a purple wig gets run over at the intersection of Broadway and Kearny in front of Enrico's restaurant. The Electric Café offices are, what else, located above a porno bookstore called the Lusty Lady. The next day, the NB production filmed at Caffe Trieste. The Electric Café was also visited by a location scout for possible use as a permanent site as Nash's apartment but was rejected.

Blues Rocker Harvey Mandel's Song Featured on NB #5 (April 25, 1996)

Episode 5, "Javelin Catcher" featured blues rocker Harvey Mandel's song "Shot Gun Man" from his TWIST CITY 1993 CD.

Official Site Discrepancy (April 22, 1996)

Regular surfers have noted to us that at the Official NB Site, their story description for episode 1 reads "Tracking down bad guys who stole computer chips and killed Nash's brother." Nash's brother Bobby wasn't killed in the first episode - it's mentioned in episode 4 that Bobby was lost over Cambodia. What appears to have happened is that the Official Site got advance info, and then a last minute script change occurred to modify the Bobby backstory.

Episode 4 Switched to Avoid Oklahoma Anniversary (April 22, 1996)

Let's hear it for timing. We've mentioned of the close coincidence that episode 4 came at the heel of the capture of the Unabomber the previous week. But we believe that the airdates for episodes 4 and 5 have been switched. Episode 4 was the mad bomber episode, but it was shown a week earlier to avoid the Friday, April 19th date. April 19th is the anniversary date of the 1995 Oklahoma bombing, and showing good judgment, we believe CBS did some juggling. Check your local TV guides (which schedules way in advance) and you'll see what I mean.

Shooting Through mid-May (April 22, 1996)

This first season of NASH BRIDGES is slated for 13 episodes. We came across the NB production in Oakland on April 22 shooting episode 11, but no Don Johnson or Cheech Marin. Don announced on the Tonight Show he was on a short vacation. The NB production will continue on location throughout the Bay Area through mid-May.

On the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge (April 22, 1996)

What kind of clout does the NASH BRIDGES production have with the city of San Francisco? Enough to close down the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge during mid-day 10am to 2pm on April 17 to shoot some scenes. With the NB production estimated to be pumping $15 million into the SF economy, they get what they want.

The Treasure Island Facility (April 22, 1996)

We've reported that there are 2 identical yellow 'Cudas used by the NB production. These 2 cars are stored in a hangar on Treasure Island. The island is not even a part of San Francisco or California. Treasure Island is federal property, where a U.S. naval base has been there for decades. Treasure Island also houses Hollywood sound stages for film and television productions such as NASH BRIDGES.

Cuda Correction (April 22, 1996)

Speaking of the yellow 'Cuda, Don Johnson's people must be surfing our site. In a TONIGHT SHOW appearance on April 17, Don was asked by Jay Leno, a car buff, about the 'Cuda. Don noted the discrepancy in the vintage year of the 'Cuda, first pointed out in this site by our 'Cuda aficionados. Way to go Don - we appreciate the correction. Leno replied "Who cares?" but then Leno spends more on his car collection than the annual salary of most white collar executives.

Gun and Badge (April 22, 1996)

A short bit on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, April 8 showed a flashy Don Johnson with his new unidentified blonde girlfriend. Don and girlfriend, as well as the rest of the cast of NASH BRIDGES were at a Planet Hollywood benefit in San Francisco. Don posed with his NB gun and badge which he donated to the restaurant chain's collection of memorabilia. If you're in SF, don't bother going to the Planet Hollywood at Stockton and Market to see the stuff - the gun and badge has been shipped to the main Planet Hollywood in Orlando, Florida.

Da Mayor (April 22, 1996)

The Mayor of San Francisco is having a grand time with celebrities. Don Johnson gave Mayor Willie Brown a cool NASH BRIDGES production jacket. The Mayor, a known snappy dresser and clothes horse, was delighted.

Celebrity City (April 22, 1996)

With David Letterman in San Francisco all this week of April 15-21 preparing comedy bits for his sweeps week of May 6-10 SF LATE SHOWS, Eddie Murphy in the City shooting his latest movie, and Don Johnson tooling around in his yellow car, one might think this was LA with all the celebrities and productions going on.
