They're Back Together

So Evan and Cassidy are back together again. It's almost as if nothing happened. She's back in her dorm room again, the jazz musician/instructor boyfriend with the sports car is gone. We've almost forgotten about Evan cheating on Cassidy with a waitress, and then living with a prostitute. He took money from a drug bust, lost his job, drank too much, and tried to commit suicide.

With one swipe of being born-again, Evan's all of a sudden got a clean slate. Once again we get to see the couple in voyeuristic fashion, and it seems each time on a wider scale. Last time it was Joe watching the naked couple in the shower - this time the whole Internet can observe via live video. Evan is also back up to speed as a cop by becoming involved in an SIU case.

There's even a reconciliation with Nash of sorts. When Evan shows superhuman restraint (he's got a panting, undressed Cassidy on her bed, for God's sakes) by pulling himself off "This is all wrong," a grateful Nash proclaims to the born-again Evan "God bless you, Evan."

With Nash and Caitlin broken up, all the Boys are back in form. Symbolically, the lame Mr. Woody (remember the horse was diagnosed with a bowed tendon) is once again studly and in racing form. Nash is single again and dating. The often used gag of people spilling things all over Caitlin's lovely dresses (she needs to be put in her place, after telling Nash to leave the restaurant) is pulled out once again. In the past, Caitlin had: an accident with a wine steward spilling red wine all over her dress; cake smeared all over her party dress; garbage all over her clothes when she fell into a bin; and banged her head on a support beam in the SIU. This is one accident-prone lady and NASH BRIDGES way of an immediate pay-off to being uppity with da Man himself. How Caitlin finally exits NASH BRIDGES is going to be interesting...
