Caitlin:Boy, you know how to pick 'em.
Nash:Boy, I sure do. I picked you.

Adam Cosgrove is at work; he receives an e-mail instructing him to go to a location at a specific time. He walks off his job, puts on body armor, and gets weapons. He takes down an armored truck even though three guards try to stop him. Nash and company show up, and Adam is there pretending to be an eyewitness to the crime.

From fingerprints left on a parking meter knob, Jason Stadt is the primary suspect. He did six years at Vacaville Prison. Nash and Harvey suspect that Jason is also connected to a string of daring daylight robberies all committed by a single white male, five feet nine inches, 160 pounds. In fact, Jason looks like Adam Cosgrove, eyewitness to the bank robbery. A search of Adam's apartment reveals nothing except another false identity.

Dr. Lorie Billings, Jason's doctor from prison, states that Jason is suffering from Disassociative Identity Disorder, or multiple personalities syndrome. Meanwhile, Adam Cosgrove has quit his telemarketing job, and tries to rob another bank. A guard is shot in the attempt. Jason is arrested and hypnotized by Dr. Billings. All his personalities emerge - Phillipe, Jason, and Adam.

Nash is skeptical of Jason, especially since Jason still communicates with his prison friend Henry Caesar. Caitlin is skeptical and jealous of Dr. Billings since Lorie and Nash were once an item. Also Caitlin suspects that Lorie and Jason are lovers.

Meanwhile, Evan has shown up to work drunk. Harvey covers for him, but at a bank crime scene, Evan sneaks away for a drink. Nick has been living with Joe. Wanting more independence, Nick decides to sell Mr. Woody, his race horse for $400,000. But the horse is lame - it cannot be sold. Nick decides to marry a rich widow. He empties his bank account of $4000 and lives in an upscale retirement home.

Caitlin has discovered that Lorie was Henry Caesar's therapist at Vacaville for four years. Lorie has also filed for bankruptcy, making her a prime suspect. Caesar has already implicated Jason. Nash confronts Lorie over dinner and warns her.

Lorie has emptied her safety deposit box where the robbery money is hidden. Nash deliberately spills coffee on Jason's transfer papers from jail to a hospital ward. Nash confronts Jason with the emptied safety deposit slip and gets Jason to implicate Lorie. At her apartment, Lorie pulls a gun on Nash, but the rest of the SIU is there to arrest Lorie.

Nick has met Doris, a wealthy widow Nick has known from horse racing. Nick packs up the rest of his clothes from Nash's apartment, ready to marry Doris in Hawaii. On the way to the airport Doris dies. Nick ends up back in Nash's apartment.
