 [The Original Unofficial NASH BRIDGES]

* "BOMBSHELL"
November 21, 1997

Episode 41       Airdate: 11/21/97      Writer: Andrew Dettmann & Daniel Truly     Director: Rick Wallace
Guest Stars: Donna W. Scott, Wanda De Jesús, Robert Rodriguez.

Nash:Bubba, I love you like a brother. Hell, you are my brother. But every time we go down this road together, I end up in a ditch. NO.
Joe:O.K. That's it. No commercial. No name recognition. Loco Joe's goes belly up. I knew it was too good to be true.
Harvey:Hah, hah, hah.
Nash:Did you hear that?
Harvey:Shameless.
Nash:He put every tactic he knows in one move. Unbelievable. (Nash slaps keys down on Joe's desk.) You get one drop of salsa on my pool table, I keel you.
Joe:I love you, Nash Bridges. (Joe hugs Nash, trying to kiss him on the cheeks.)
Nash:No, no, don't do that. Don't do that - they talk about us already.

Driving along in the 'Cuda, Nash and Joe spot Tamara Van Zant crossing the street. They stop to apprehend her, but Tamara is also trying to avoid a team of Federal agents following her. Tamara is taken into custody at the SIU.

Harvey and Evan explain to Michelle the past history between Nash and Tamara. Trapped in a relationship with a union gangster, Tamara went to Nash for help. Nash put away the gangster, but Tamara ran off with $1.2 million and was also possibly involved in murder. Nash used to love Tamara, but now all he wants to do is put away Tamara.

U.S. Customs Agent Reynolds fills in the SIU on Tamara's current activities. Tamara has been in Czechoslovakia, involved with a nuclear power worker, Alex Milos. Milos has stolen weapons grade plutonium, and he and Tamara planned to sell the plutonium. Agent Reynolds offers Tamara full immunity in exchange for the plutonium, much to the objection of Nash.

Through surveillance tapes, a middleman is identified - Karl Wamsler, but Wamsler reveals nothing. Tamara is followed to a department store, where she meets up with Nash. Pakistani thugs try to kidnap Tamara, but Nash intercedes after a shoot-out which leaves a Pakistani dead.

Meanwhile, Joe has set up a factory to produce Loco Joe's Family-Style Salsa. Joe begs Nash to use his apartment to shoot a commercial for the salsa product. Joe's family comes calling, suing Joe and claiming ownership of the salsa recipe.

Tamara is in protective custody, guarded by Michelle, Evan and Harvey. After failing to seduce Evan, and failing to bribe Harvey, Tamara agrees to lead the SIU to the plutonium. In a meeting at a bar, Tamara retrieves a suitcase containing the plutonium. The Pakistanis are there also and open fire. In the ensuing shoot-out, Tamara escapes with the plutonium.

The SIU put surveillance back on Karl Wamsler, hoping that Tamara will show up. But Evan, Harvey and Michelle manage to lose Wamsler after the surveillance van gets towed. The Pakistanis were partners with Milos, but they reveal to Nash that Milos has been dead for three weeks, probably killed by Tamara. Surprisingly, Tamara turns herself in, renewing her deal with Agent Reynolds for full immunity in return for the plutonium. Tamara turns in the plutonium, leaving Nash puzzled.

After checking further, Nash learns that Tamara has turned in only 3.8 kilos of plutonium when 8 kilos were smuggled in. Tamara still has 4.2 kilos to sell. Tracing her phone to the same bar, Nash catches Tamara at the bar with the plutonium. Nash confiscates the plutonium, but Tamara remains free. Joe hammers out an agreement with his family leaving himself with only one percent of his salsa company. The salsa commercial airs, with Nash having a part with his voice dubbed in.
