Nash: Thanks for taking such good care of my daughter.

 Evan: Really? I mean, thanks.

Nash: Yeah, she told me all about it. She really likes you.

Evan: Nash, I'm sorry ok? It was just a kiss -- I didn't
even initiate it. She grabbed me.

Nash: Bubba, you could be the youngest Lieutenant in the
department or you could have the shortest career
in the history of the SIU.

 Evan: Understood completely sir.

Nash Bridges and Joe Dominguez investigate suspect Sid Benedict in the killing of Judge Sanders. Sid escapes and leads Nash on a chase across San Francisco rooftops. Sid draws his gun forcing Nash to shoot resulting in Sid falling off the roof. Nash and Joe take Sid's girl Venus into custody.

Nash's daughter Cassidy accompanies her dad to work as part of research for a school paper. Cassidy goes out with Evan and Harvey on a surveillance of a Porsche automobile to catch a notorious car thief named Javna. Cassidy has an infatuation with Evan and makes every attempt to engage Evan romantically, in spite of Harvey's warnings to Evan of incurring her dad's wrath.

The shooting of Sid Benedict turns out to be a complex cover-up for the killing of Judge Sanders, with Nash caught in the middle. Nash finds himself being investigated by Lt. Tomes of Internal Affairs, who has ordered the killing of Judge Sanders. Nash is suspended from duty on the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). Nash goes to his sister Stacy for help in an unofficial investigation. Stacy, an assistant district attorney, does some digging into the background of Lt. Tomes. No longer on the force, Nash breaks into Lt. Tomes house (with the help of Joe Dominguez) and discovers Tomes twisted motive for killing the judge. Tomes' wife was raped, and her case was botched and dismissed by Judge Sanders. Meanwhile Tomes orders the killing of Nash, but Nash survives the attempt on his life. Nash and Joe visit Tomes' wife, but Tomes shows up and is killed by another Internal Affairs officer.

Lt. Shimamura welcomes the cleared Nash back on the force. Joe Dominguez gets a buy-out offer from the co-owner of their gay bar for 20 percent over what Joe invested in the bar. Joe decides to keep the bar because the place is a gold mine. Evan and Harvey catch the car thief Javna. Nash is fully informed on the potential romance between the 16 year old Cassidy and 26 year old Evan, but Nash is appreciative of Evan's restraint.
