Fan Mail (December 20, 2000)

In this sixth year of doing NASH BRIDGES, we like to wish our loyal readers and NB fans Season's Greetings and a Happy New Year. Thanks for all your support all these years!

Cassidy Ain't No Cop

We loved Cassidy as Nash's daughter, but when she became a cop...let's say it was a stretch. Here's some fan reaction, too.

There must be a way that this chick can be written out: hit in the line of fire, long term hospital stay - cause this ladfy's gotta go.! Her style of acting, the cruel mouth, the shallow level of talent, the godawful color job on the hai, etcetc. Maybe the stylist of the show could be along with her in the very Obvious Staff car Cabriolet VW - really! when it backs into the Bay. Merry Xmas...altho Yasmine ain't no improvement. Bring Annette O'Toole back: we need some serious actors, as good as Nash's dad. --Charles

What were they thinking of? Cassidy is the worst actor. They make her a police officer. She needs to go. Give Harvey a love life he is so nice-do more for him. I really like the show and it would be better without Cassidy. Thanks for listening. --Jerry

Seat Belts for NASH?

Love this site, had so much fun catching up on news about the shows, and Mr. Johnson himself.. Always wonder why, being a cop show, that they never "Buckle up" while jumping into their cars??Are they above the law?? Even if its only make beleive, it sends a duel message.... Keep the faith, Jean in Rancho Palos Verdes

Cheech Marin's Butt Lifter

I'm a NB fan from Switzerland. Here's something that I've noticed on several episodes of the show and also from some pictures of the 'Cuda (http://www.lowtek.com/nash/tomsvisit/cuda_3.html) that might be interesting to know for everyone. If you watch carefully you can spot an additional seat cushion on the passengers seat of Nash's car (especially in the episode "Overdrive", where the thing almost slips from the seat as Joe jumps out of the car). It's about 5 inches thick and it's presumably there to make it possible for Cheech Marin, who is not the tallest, to look above the 'Cuda's dashboard. Or it might as well be there to make Cheech visible for the viewers at all, because without it we would probably only see his baldy forehead behind the Windshield. So let's all thanks this little inconsiderable helper, for letting us enjoy the hilarious mimic of this great comedian.

Season's Greetings from Switzerland, --Tom

P.S.: Cool site, keep up the good work.

Fan Misses Evan

I'am an avid Evan fan! I'am wondering why Evan was blocked out of a couple of the flashbacks on "Blowout" that I can clearly recall him being present on? I noticed you didn't block out Caitlin when her and Nash were on the plane when they ran into Rick and caught him. After all, wasn't Evan one of the main parts of the show for awhile? And it's almost as if Nash ain't the least bit sad about his death. I feel that he should feel and be showing some guilt for not forgiving him for everything when Cassidy did. I don't see this happening, but if Jaime P. Gomez were to come back as Evan, would it happen in a scenario like he was pulled by the Feds for a major undercover investigation and had to have his death faked to be able to pull it off? I really miss Evan and feel that he should still be mentioned among the other characters still. {Nash, Harvey, Joe, and so on.} I must say that the part of seeing Cassidy grieve over Evan was great though. Sincerely, A fan from Nevada

Educated Fan

The title of the Nash Bridges episode, "The Counterfeiters", may also tie in with the Nobel Prize winning novelist Andre Gide, whose frank portrayal of homosexuality in the 'indecent' work: "The Counterfeiters", won him noteriety and fame in the late 1920's. --Lapin

Will Yasmine Come Crawling Back to NASH? (December 14, 2000)

Yup, the turgid Aaron Spelling series TITANS has been cancelled. So Yasmine Bleeth is out of a job - remember that promo for TITANS where Yasmine taunts NASH BRIDGES and jumps ship?

Well, even Yasmine in a gold bikini couldn't attract enough viewers. So what now for Yasmine? Could she possibly return to NASH BRIDGES as Caitlin Cross? As a guest star perhaps? Aw, they should have killed her off (like they killed off Kelly Hu - remember her in the blue bikini?) just to close the door on such possibilities...

Harvey's PT Cruiser (December 14, 2000)

While we're on the topic of Caitlin Cross, remember that at the end of Season 5, Harvey bought Caitlin's car (that tinny little blue electric car)?

All of a sudden at the start of Season 6, Harvey's got a more substantial car, the new Chrysler PT Cruiser. It's a cool car, and more befitting Harvey's hippie background. So what happened to that little blue car? We shudder to think Caitlin Cross might return in it.

[UPDATED!] (NB Fan - Karin informs us that the company that made the Zebra car, the electric car that Caitlin Cross drove, has gone out of business, and that is why the car was "written out" of the new season. Karin's source was from Official NB sources.)

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe (Cassidy) in Banned MTV Commercial (December 14, 2000)

Gist TV News of November 28th reported that Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, (who plays Cassidy on NASH BRIDGES) was the actress in the Candies Shoe commercial.

In the racy scenario of the commercial, a nude couple gets into a shower together. Their shadows clearly indicate that they are having vigorous sex.

Long time fans of NASH will note that this is a very repetitive situation for Jodi. Playing Cassidy on NASH BRIDGES, Jodi had simulated sex in the shower with Evan ("Sacraments" Episode 54 from Season 3).

As for appearing nude, Jodi's come close to nude, but no PLAYBOY-like photo spread yet. Jodi appeared almost nude in MAXIM magazine, and as her fictional Cassidy, she posed nude for a safe sex poster in "Rampage" Episode 27 from Season 2. Will she or won't she someday pose fully nude?...

NASH Original Episodes Coming On Strong (December 14, 2000)

There's been hardly a let-up in original episodes. Since the start of season 6, NASH BRIDGES have been on steadily (with the exception of an Elton John special on December 1st) for 10 episodes.

Remember that this is a season with 24 episodes, not the usual 22. Keep watchin', NB fans...
