Dedicated NASH Fan Visits San Francisco and Finds NB Production (September 26, 1999)
This is from Joy Margetts, who has followed the show from the beginning and actually reads my commentaries carefully and all the way through! Thanks, Joy.
I sent this to the NBML & the jaime gomez list, then wondered if you
would like to see it. Looks like an 'interesting' new season. Loved
that chair going up in flames. Looking forward to you comments...
...When Susan & I were in San Francisco and were fortunate enough to watch them shooting... Truth & Consequences. When Nash & Joe left the Cuda to go into the recording studio the first time, we were across the street taking photos... Then when Harvey & Evan were walking and discussing Evan's
injury, we were right there. It was just great. We had met Jeff & Jaime about a half hour earlier and they had both posed for photo's,.... Two really nice people who were so gracious. A memory you never forget.
Your E-Mail Is Being Read (September 26, 1999)
We were away (in Seattle) for the summer and out of communication, but the e-mail continued to pour in!
We are just beginning to sift through all the e-mail, so please be patient. We will put up more stuff from fans as the new season rolls on. We read all e-mail - it is not being ignored. Thanks for contacting us and continue to notify us if you come across the NB production, or you have an interesting encounter with the stars, or anything NB related.
The NB production shoots a lot in Oakland, so keep your eyes, ears and cameras ready!
HELLO, NASH FANS - WE'RE BACK! Fifth Season Premiere This Week! (September 20, 1999)
We're back from our summer hiatus (we're fine, thank you) and ready for the start of a new season of NASH BRIDGES. Production resumed on August 5th, and the NB production presumably has several episodes shot, edited and ready for air. The PR machine has already been cranking, revealing the plots of the first two episodes even before the start of the premiere. NASH BRIDGES retains its usual Friday night time slot (hey, it worked for MIAMI VICE, didn't it?)
There's no major shake-ups in the regular cast - all are returning, safe and sound (though we have to find out how and where cheating Evan has been shot). Stone Cold Steve Austin is slated for five episodes - NB is tapping into the big ratings draw of wrestling. Austin has proven his worth - the two episodes he appeared in last season got muscular ratings, even in re-runs. (We think CBS ought to spin off a detective series featuring two wrestlers! Hey, at least put them on shlocky MARTIAL LAW, which has not only dumped two regular cast members, but also executive producer Carlton Cuse; but thank god our favorite Kelly Hu is still hangin' in there. At least that means Carlton can concentrate fully on NASH BRIDGES).
This fifth season of NASH BRIDGES is also significant in approaching the 100th episode, which should occur right at the very end of the season. Then re-run fever should start as the series goes into syndication on the USA Network. Who knows then what happens - if Don Johnson still feels like continuing or if he follows the pattern of MIAMI VICE and wants out. But after the fifth year, all is extra gravy...
Meanwhile, Back on the Don Celebrity Watch... (September 20, 1999)
The biggest NB related news of the summer has got to be the announcement that Don's new wife Kelley is expecting. PEOPLE MAGAZINE reported that the baby is due towards the end of the year.
Let's see - let's do some math. Don and Kelley got married in a widely publicized wedding on April 29th of this year. So May, June...by December it's only 8 months. The normal human gestation period is 9 months - oh my god, that means...Oh my. Oh my my.
After Murdering HOMICIDE, CBS' NASH BRIDGES Going to Freeze NBC's COLD FEET (September 20, 1999)
In the Friday night time slot, ABC has slated the long-running news magazine show 20/20 up against NASH BRIDGES. No problem there, the audience demographics are totally different and non-competing. NB draws the younger male audience, while 20/20 has drawn the older mixed audience.
Poor NBC has put up a new show entitled COLD FEET. COLD FEET is touted as a twentysomething show featuring the relationships of three couples. COLD FEET is supposed to be sexy and couples-oriented. Recall the almost soft porn coupling between Nash and Caitlin in NASH BRIDGES' season finale - we think randy Don's more than up to the task. NASH BRIDGES can outsex COLD FEET - we predict NASH BRIDGES is going to wack the feet off this show. Let the season begin!
