In an SF Chronicle article entitled "Extras! Extras! Read All About It!" (Datebook section, April 21, 1998), there is excellent contact info on how to register with casting agencies for work as an extra, especially in NASH BRIDGES. But NASH BRIDGES is not the only production that needs background extras; there are also the roughly dozen Hollywood features that are shot in the Bay area annually, along with commercials, and industrial films.
In the article written by Edward Guthmann, he informs us that most agencies require a nominal registration fee and a recent non-professional photo. You don't have to be a member of the Screen Actor's Guild. So here are a list of the agencies to contact:
