 [The Original Unofficial NASH BRIDGES]

* "HIGH SOCIETY"
October 22, 1999

Episode 83       Airdate: 10/22/98      Writer: Reed Steiner and Jed Seidel     Director: Scoot Brazil
Guest Stars: Edward Edwards, Francois Chau, Christian J. Meoli as Boz Bishop. Special Guest Star: Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Jake:Track record speaks for itself, Cross. He's failed at two marriages, he's obsessed with his job - the longest relationship he's had is with his car.
Caitlin:So now I suppose you are going to give some deep male perspective on the situation?
Jake:Well, marriage is not an option for Nash. At this point, he'd rather lease than buy. It's temporary.
Caitlin:You know, I know exactly what you're trying to do. ...You're trying to drive a wedge between Nash and me and it's not going to work.

Nash and Joe pull off a caper - they steal a million dollar Stradivarius violin from the lobby of a corporation headquarters. The caper is their latest off-duty case to test the corporation's security system.

Nash assigns Jake Cage and Caitlin to go in undercover to the wedding of international fugitive Richard Malick's daughter. Cage is the only person who has seen Malick after his plastic surgery - only Cage can identify Malick. Caitlin must teach Cage etiquette so that they can pass as a high society couple.

Jake is still in love with Caitlin, and works on her doubts about her relationship with Nash. Jake makes her realize that Nash is not so quick towards marriage. A salad lesson for Jake frustrates Caitlin. A trip to a French restaurant is deceptive, as Jake speaks memorized French. A trip to the tailor weakens Caitlin more, as she begins to question Nash.

Joe describes their caper to his detective class consisting of students Boz Bishop, Nina, and Maxwell. The violin is stolen in exactly the same way that Nash and Joe did it. Nash suspects Boz, but Boz proves innocent. Boz suspects Maxwell, but Maxwell is a monitored prisoner back in jail every night.

The entire wedding is monitored by video surveillance as Nash watches. Caitlin has forgotten to recharge her electric car, so Jake and Caitlin arrive to the wedding on his motorcycle. They pass themselves off as Deidre and Scott Hartwell. Jake mixes surprisingly well with the high society guests. Just as Richard Malick arrives and sits at Jake and Caitlin's table, the real Hartwell shows up.

The undercover operation is blown, as Jake goes after Malick. Malick's two thugs fight Jake. Caitlin catches Malick, only to be thrown into the wedding cake. Malick runs into a car door opened by Mayor Willie Brown. The Mayor is credited with the capture of the notorious international fugitive.

Joe realizes that Boz has been having an affair with Nina inside the office of the detective agency. Nina's boyfriend Trey is the culprit in the theft of the violin. Evan has had sex with a young street prostitute named Teri Bayer. She calls him for help when she is arrested, but Evan lets her spend the night in jail. Jake leaves, but he is still in love with Caitlin.
