1.0 Final Release Released June 18, 2000

• CopyFaster requires Windows 2000 and does not work with Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0.

• CopyFaster doesn't speed up copying to and from network mapped drives, CD-ROMs, floppy disks, or to and from different hard drives (which Windows 2000 already does plenty fast).

• CopyFaster will only enable its fast copying for files that are at least 1MB in size. CopyFaster is not faster for copying files smaller than 1MB.

• CopyFaster does not currently speed up copying of files on NTFS volumes that are compressed with NTFS compression or encrypted with NTFS encryption. This will not apply for most users.

• CopyFaster has not been tested with Windows 2000 mount points or reparse points. Normal mortals most likely do not have any of these on their system.

• CopyFaster has not been tested with Windows Explorer's "Launch folder windows in a separate process" feature. If this is enabled, CopyFaster may or may not work properly.

• CopyFaster does not speed up copying files from the Command Prompt using the command line COPY or XCOPY commands.
